Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) is the business development bank of Berlin.
Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) is the business development bank of the Federal State of Berlin focusing on business support, support for housing and urban development as well as labour market promotion. When it comes to housing and urban development, in particular, IBB has a diverse range of offers for landlords, investors, municipal housing companies and associations, as well as individual home owners and home owner communities.
In light of the rapid rate at which Berlin is growing, IBB is particularly committed to promoting the construction of rental apartments and to supporting people buying homes in the city. Using funds from its New Housing Fund, IBB supports municipal housing companies, cooperatives and private investors, enabling them to build affordable rental housing in Berlin. IBB also finances construction projects, both privately financed new housing as well as housing with rent and occupancy restrictions.
In its determination to help companies in the real estate sector master the challenges of demographic development in the Federal State of Berlin, IBB offers its own loan programme in addition to passing on a KfW programme.
When it comes to energy efficiency, IBB promotes almost everything that is geared to protect the climate: energy refurbishment, efficient heating systems, green roofs and energy storage systems. In the field of energy-efficient building refurbishment, it offers two of its own loan programmes as well as KfW programmes. IBB’s energy consulting project ENEO also provides support when it comes to advice and expert opinions right through to implementing the recommended energy refurbishment measures.
