THE UPTURNED CHEST OF DRAWERS - an icon of Bremen gets a new lease of life.

The Projektgesellschaft Umgedrehte Kommode (PUK Bremen) stands for a visionary construction project that combines the historical significance of a Bremen landmark with the requirements of modern urban development. Under the experienced leadership of Amer Sandawi and Wolfgang Weber, PUK Bremen is working to make a success of the conversion of the old waterworks on Bremen's Stadtwerder.

The company's primary goal is to unite all interests and create a showcase project for the city of Bremen by taking monument protection, careful planning and realisation as well as economic feasibility into account. The ‘Upturned chest of drawers’ will not only shine in new splendour as a result of this project, but will also be a living example of the successful symbiosis of past and future.

The ambitious project requires not only well thought-out planning, but also consideration of the building's status as a listed building and cultural monument. PUK Bremen is responsible for coordinating and moderating all parties involved in the project - from investors to authorities - and ensures that the interests of all parties are harmonised.

PUK's main tasks include the feasibility study, project management and economic feasibility study of the project. The company is also responsible for the tendering of all trades, tender review and contract award as well as construction supervision. PUK Bremen is also responsible for coordinating the marketing of the converted building.
