Kick-off at Expo Real: Urban Tech Republic launches property competition process
With a press event at Expo Real in Munich, the Urban Tech Republic is entering a new phase of development: Tegel Projekt GmbH is launching the property competition process of the first construction site on the grounds of the former Tegel Airport.

Background
On the 500-hectare site of the former Berlin-Tegel Airport, the Urban Tech Republic is being developed as an international innovation hub for urban technologies. Up to 1,000 companies with around 20,000 jobs are expected to settle here – complemented by research institutions, testing grounds and high-performance infrastructure. Directly adjacent, the Schumacher Quartier is being built as one of Europe’s largest climate-neutral residential projects. Together, they represent one of Europe’s most ambitious urban development initiatives.
