Porto is witnessing rapid transformation. In recent years, the city has become an investment hotspot and has seen a boom in tourism, investment, and entrepreneurship. Foreign investment in Porto and Northern Portugal broke records in 2018, being the region in the country with the most FDI in terms of jobs created.
The growth in tourism, investment and entrepreneurship has also boosted property demand and urban regeneration in Porto, with the number of building rehabilitation projects skyrocketing in recent years. A total area of 185,000 m2 was licensed in the city of Porto from January to October 2018, 55% of which are residential projects and 17% are tourism projects.
InvestPorto is a division of the Porto City Council focused on investment promotion. It acts as a one-stop shop for investors, providing support to relevant and strategic investments that take place in the Porto area during all the stages of the investment process.
