The modern, intercommunal urban area Flugfeld Böblingen/Sindelfingen is one of the largest continuous conversion areas in southern Germany. The city of Böblingen and the city of Sindelfingen have agreed on a joint venture to strengthen the regional business market by focusing on attracting innovative and future-oriented companies to the Flugfeld. Their intercommunal administration union Flugfeld Böblingen/Sindelfingen plans, refurbishes, develops and markets the area.
Currently, approximately 80 percent of the building plots have already been sold or are reserved. As of spring 2019, more than 2,900 residents have registered for residential housing and more than 2,500 people are working for one of the numerous attractive companies located in the Flugfeld. By 2025, around 4,000 residents and approximately 7,000 jobs can be expected.
The Flugfeld provides existing strong infrastructure. A highlight for the area is its close proximity to the inner cities of Böblingen and Sindelfingen. Its central location leads to a very good connection and accessibility. Many advantages of this area speak for themselves, and have drawn numerous innovative, technically advanced and future-oriented companies to the Flugfeld already. For the few still available building plots, companies are sought that further strengthen the economic environment.
