Emerging Trends in Foreign Investment, under this title Barcelona Catalonia (a joint venture between the Government of Catalonia, Barcelona City Council and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona) organised a conference yesterday as part of the Discussion & Networking forum programme with the idea of assessing the mood in the real estate sector. Anna Esteban, the Managing Director of CBRE Barcelona highlighted the existing demand for investing in office buildings in the Catalan capital and expanding the business sector to the city’s metropolitan area as well as the current demand for assets that offer high levels of profitability. François-Xavier Lancel, the founder of INVERTICA Real Estate Solutions, defined the hot point of today’s logistics sector as the demand for XXL spaces.
The 22@ Barcelona City project was our headlining attraction at Expo Real today. David Martínez, the Director of BIT Habitat Foundation –Barcelona City Council- took part in the City Innovation - Districts and Corridors forum, together with the cities of Cambridge, Rotterdam and Helsinki. Martínez explained the new strategy for developing the northern area of 22@ with an inclusive, sustainable urban model that will attract cultural and creative activities, as well as the green economy.
