With the construction of the new health campus in Calw, the Klinikverbund Südwest is sending a clear signal in favour of a modern, sustainable culture of mobility. The new WÖHR Bikesafe, integrated into the car park’s spiral ramp, combines traditional car infrastructure with a state-of-the-art bicycle parking facility for the first time, turning the building into a true mobility hub.

The integration of the Bikesafe into a spiral ramp originally designed for cars represents a solution that is unique in Germany. A space that was previously considered a ‘dead zone’ is thus put to efficient use and takes on a completely new function. The Bikesafe is constructed as a tower and rises 11.80 metres into the spiral ramp, with a diameter of 8.60 metres. A total of 122 parking spaces are available across eight levels. Without any additional land sealing, a fully automated bicycle car park is created that blends harmoniously into the existing architecture, thereby setting entirely new standards.
