The bank emerged from the merger of three traditional private banks: Georg Hauck & Sohn Bankiers in Frankfurt am Main, Bankhaus Lampe founded in Bielefeld and Bankhaus H. Aufhäuser in Munich. The bank focuses on the four core business areas of Private & Corporate Banking, Asset Management, Asset Servicing and Investment Banking. The focus of its business activities is on comprehensive advisory services and asset management for private and corporate clients, asset management for institutional investors, comprehensive fund services for financial and real assets in Germany, Luxembourg and Ireland as well as cooperation with independent asset managers.

Asset Servicing comprises the areas of Financial Assets, Real Assets and Digital Assets. The bank offers services relating to the administration, management and custody of investment products with a focus on Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria and Ireland.

The bank's Private & Corporate Banking division solves all wealth and financing needs for high net worth individuals and family offices, companies and entrepreneurs, as well as foundations and non-profit organisations.

In the Asset Management area, HAL offers institutional investors and selective private clients comprehensive liquid and illiquid investment solutions - in the Real Estate Investment Management team with a focus on attractive investment solutions in the real estate segment.
